CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — An 18-year-old has been arrested and charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of a 14-year-old boy outside the Figueroa Square Apartments in Robstown, according to Robstown Police Chief Mike Tamez.
Tamez confirmed Elias Eric Rivera was booked into the Nueces County Jail Wednesday night. His bond was set at $750,000. The arrest comes two days after the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old.
He told 3NEWS that officers were called around 3:50 p.m. Monday for a report of a male who had been shot. Sanchez was found dead at the scene. Tamez said early evidence showed the shooting “was not a random act of violence.”
Tamez said investigators received Ring camera video and citizen reports that helped move the case forward. The Texas Department of Public Safety is assisting Robstown police.
He added that the shooting on Tuesday and another last Saturday are related, citing money as a possible motive for both shootings.
More arrests are expected, according to Tamez.
The investigation continues. Stay with 3NEWS for the latest updates on this case.
