Police confirm they’re investigating the incident.
PLANO, Texas — Police are investigating after a Pride flag at a North Texas church was allegedly “torn down.”
West Plano Presbyterian Church in Plano said a Pride flag outside the church was “torn down, destroying the flag pole as well as the flag” sometime between Nov. 16 and Nov. 18 in a post on social media.Â
“The incident was reported to Plano Police…Apparently there was a similar case recently,” the church said.Â
The church says it’s not the first time it’s been vandalized.Â
“This is not the first time WPPC has been vandalized due to our speaking out. (In July 2020, our digital sign was destroyed by someone who disagreed with our messaging.),” the church continued. “We will continue to speak out and will continue to be open and inclusive as we believe God is calling us to be.”
Plano police confirmed that their department is aware of the incident and it’s under investigation.Â
