This week, The Texas Tech Police Department responded to a series of incidents across campus, including a string of thefts, a hate crime characterized by race and nationality and a hazing incident that took place in 2017.

Sunday, Nov. 16th

12:21 a.m. A Tech officer documented information in reference to a welfare check at Coleman Residence Hall.

12:55 a.m. A Campus Security Authority reported a liquor law violation that occurred in Bledsoe Residence Hall.

2:27 a.m. A CSA reported a liquor law violation that occurred in Bledsoe Residence Hall.

3:24 a.m. A CSA reported a drug law violation that occurred in Murdough Residence Hall.

7:18 a.m. A Tech officer issued a non-student a county citation for possession of drug paraphernalia in the C-2 parking lot. The individual was also issued a criminal trespass warning for all Texas Tech property.

2:00 p.m. A Tech officer investigated duty on striking an unattended vehicle in the Z2-B parking lot.

9:03 p.m. A Tech officer released a non-student, pending the filing of charges, for possession of THC oil in R-13 parking lot, following a traffic stop.

Monday, Nov. 17th

7:30 a.m. A CSA reported an on-campus property damage incident that was classified as a hate crime based on race and national origin

7:47 a.m. A Tech officer investigated criminal mischief at the Education Building.

8:10 a.m. A Tech officer completed an emergency detention on a non-student in the 3300 block of 9th Street. The individual was transported to Sunrise Canyon.

10:35 a.m. A Tech officer investigated theft at the north bicycle racks at Clement Residence Hall. A secured electric scooter was stolen.

12:25 p.m. A CSA reported a liquor law violation that occurred in Bledsoe Residence Hall.

1:40 p.m. A Tech officer investigated theft at the Student Union Building, money was stolen from a business.

2:10 p.m. A Tech officer investigated harassment at the Student Union Building. An employee received unwanted electronic communications.

4:06 p.m. A Tech officer investigated theft at the north bicycle racks at Wall Residence Hall. A secured electric scooter was stolen.

5:25 p.m. A Tech officer investigated a traffic accident involving a university vehicle, without injuries in the R18 parking lot.

7:04 p.m. A Tech officer investigated theft at the northwest bicycle racks at Sneed Residence Hall. A secured bicycle was stolen.

8:28 p.m. A Tech officer investigated theft at the north bicycle racks at the Student Recreation Center. A secured bicycle was stolen.

9:04 p.m. A Tech officer investigated burglary of a motor vehicle in the Z4-R parking lot. A secured vehicle was rummaged through, nothing was stolen.

Tuesday, Nov. 18th

4:32 a.m. A Tech officer issued a student a county citation for possession of drug paraphernalia in the Z3-M parking lot. The student signed the citation and was released.

10:46 a.m. A Tech officer investigated theft at multiple locations on campus. Items were stolen from vending machines.

1:43 p.m. A Tech officer investigated theft in the Z2-B parking lot. A license plate and license plate frame were stolen.

2:00 p.m. A Tech officer investigated theft and criminal mischief at the south bicycle racks at Murray Residence Hall. A secured electric scooter was stolen.

Wednesday, Nov. 19th

12:00 p.m. An incident of hazing that occurred at Greek Circle in October 2017 was reported.

12:43 p.m. A Tech officer investigated theft at the east bicycle rack at Stangel Residence Hall. A secured bicycle was stolen.

2:33 p.m. A Tech officer investigated criminal mischief at the north bicycle racks at Gordon Residence Hall. A bicycle lock was damaged.

9:25 p.m. A Tech officer investigated a traffic accident, without injuries in the 4000 block of 4th Street.

9:26 p.m. A Tech officer documented information in reference to a fire alarm in Stangel Residence Hall.

9:54 p.m. A Tech officer arrested a non-student for driving while intoxicated at the intersection of 4th Street and Texas Tech Parkway. The individual was transported to the county jail and the vehicle was impounded.

11:14 p.m. A Tech officer investigated harassment at Murdough Residence Hall.

Thursday, Nov. 20th

12:10 a.m. A Tech officer arrested a non-student for public intoxication in the C-1 South parking lot. The individual was transported to the county jail.

1:02 a.m. A CSA reported a liquor law violation that occurred in Clement Residence Hall.

2:06 a.m. A Tech officer arrested a non-student for public intoxication in the 2400 block of Broadway Street. The individual was also released, pending the filing of charges, for assault and transported to the county jail.

12:09 p.m. A Tech officer investigated duty on striking an unattended vehicle at the Health Sciences Center F-2 parking lot.

12:51 p.m. A Tech officer arrested a non-student for public intoxication on the south side of the Hope Lodge. The individual was issued a criminal trespass warning for all Texas Tech property and transported to the county jail.

1:06 p.m. A Tech officer investigated theft at the Student Recreation Center. An unsecured Apple Pencil was stolen.

Friday, Nov. 21

3:31 a.m. A Tech officer issued a student a county citation for simple assault at Bledsoe Residence Hall. The student signed the citation and was released.
