HUNTSVILLE – The Texas State University System Board of Regents today elected Stephen Lee of Bastrop as chairman of the board, and Don Flores of El Paso as vice chairman. The unanimous votes occurred during the board’s quarterly meeting at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.
Stephen Lee, first appointed to the Board of Regents in 2021, serves as president and CEO of the First National Bank of Bastrop, becoming the ninth CEO in the institution’s 135-year history. He has more than 30 years of banking experience, including 17 years as President and CEO of First Financial Bank–Southeast Texas. A graduate and distinguished alumnus of Lamar University,
