RICHARDSON, Texas (October 15, 2025) — UT-Dallas edged Lubbock Christian University 1-0 on Wednesday at the UTD Soccer Complex.

Despite a strong defensive performance from the Chaparrals, with their goalkeeper recording four saves in the second half, the team was unable to find the back of the net. The Comets capitalized on a penalty kick opportunity to win the game.

The Chaps stand at 3-6-3 overall and 2-2-2 in conference play following the loss. UT-Dallas improves to 7-3-2 overall and 3-0-1 in conference play with the victory.

The first half commenced with both LCU and UT-Dallas maintaining defensive positions. LCU’s Connor Pettigrew started in goal, while Jack Brassey attempted an early shot that went wide in the seventh minute. The team earned several corner kicks, showing offensive intent but failing to convert them into goals.

Despite a persistent effort from both sides, the half concluded without even a shot on goal from either team. The score remained level at 0-0, with both defenses holding firm and preventing any breakthrough.

The second half began with UT-Dallas capitalizing on a penalty kick in the 52nd minute, as Jordan Jones found the net to give them a 1-0 lead. Pettigrew delivered a series of crucial saves to keep the deficit to a single goal, denying multiple attempts from Evan Pustejovsky and Avery Brazzell.

LCU sought to respond offensively, with Kade McKinzie and Adam Davison both testing the Comet keeper. Despite several attempts and a late push featuring shots from Francisco Horta and Manu Nunez, the Chaps were unable to equalize. The match concluded with UT-Dallas maintaining their 1-0 advantage.
