The San Antonio Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman considered a person of interest in a fatal shooting earlier this month on the city’s West Side.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 4:20 a.m. on Nov. 8 in the 5600 block of Culebra Road, police said. When they arrived, they found Zachary James Owens, 23, dead on the sidewalk in the 1200 block of Mira Vista with an apparent gunshot wound to his head, according to police and the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Witnesses told investigators they saw a man running south across Culebra Road after the shooting. Security camera footage captured a blurry image of someone fleeing from the area and then a woman walking away in the same direction, according to police.

The woman is considered a person of interest and may have information about the homicide, police said.

Anyone with information about the woman is urged to contact SAPD’s homicide unit at 210-207-2457.
