1. ‘Do you want to be next?’: Lawmaker calls on university leaders to follow Texas A&M’s lead on academic policy change

At least one lawmaker is calling on other university leaders to implement similar academic policy changes as the Texas A&M Board of Regents or risk losing jobs.

The Texas A&M University System changed its academic policy to stop professors from advocating for certain race or gender ideology in their courses unless “approved in advance.”

2. More than 7,000 truck drivers sidelined for English proficiency violations. Texas truckers are pushing back

More than 7,000 commercial truck drivers across the country have been taken off the road this year after failing to meet federal English proficiency requirements, according to U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.

A federal judge in San Antonio has blocked the Ten Commandments from being displayed in classrooms in 14 school districts across the state.

5. Texas rancher reacts to USDA plan to strengthen cattle industry

Across the country, the ranching industry has struggled to adapt to lingering drought and inflation, resulting in the lowest cattle supply since 1961 and causing beef prices to soar.

That’s the reason behind the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) announcement of a plan to revitalize the industry and hopefully lower prices for consumers.

President Donald Trump is responding furiously to a video from a group of Democratic lawmakers that called on U.S. service members and those who work in the intelligence community to “stand up” for the Constitution and refuse to carry out any potential illegal orders, saying the message is “punishable by DEATH!”
