Livingston — A man authorities called “armed and dangerous” is now jailed after a shooting because he got enraged over a horse.

Lee David Strole ran into an wooded area as part of a shooting investigation Wednesday morning in Leggett, northeast of Livingston off U.S. Highway 59.

Later, the 39-year-old Strole was arrested, seen in a picture shirtless, dirty and with a thicker beard in the initial photo authorities released.

Polk County Sheriff Byron Lyons said Strole shot a woman after an argument about her horse that stayed on Strole’s property.

She was airlifted to a hospital. Her condition was unknown as of last check.

According to jail records, Strole is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and evading arrest with a vehicle.

Bond has not been set as of Wednesday evening.

Strole has a violent criminal history, including an aggravated assault charge.
