LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Sixty-four students from The Dance Gallery in southwest Lubbock are set to perform in Disney’s “Dance the Magic” parade in two weeks.
The studio is one of 20 from around the world chosen to participate. When the dance company gets to Florida, the students will work with Disney choreographers and compete to lead the parade.
The Dance Gallery has been chosen to lead the parade three times since 2015.
“They all work so hard, they are such sweet kids, they are so loving and I know they love dance and what they do so much, so it’s just going to be a full circle moment for us to really see all that and with the background of the castle and to just enjoy and love to see these kids do what they do,” said Heather West, choreographer.
The studio says it’s an opportunity for the dancers to show off their skills.
The Dance Gallery and its students head to Florida the first weekend of December.
“We just create special bonds with each other and we all have such great friendship and I think that we all value dance so much and it holds such a special place in our hearts and just being able to share that with each other and dance down main street together is just a really special experience for everyone,” one dancer said.
While the dance studios are competing to lead the parade, the students and their families will also have time to visit Disney World.
