It’s impossible to walk three feet in Texas without stepping foot on centuries of history. No two places are the same and some carry a history that has touched the entire state. It’s rare that such spots become available to buy, but one such spot has now hit the market in South Texas.
Randado Ranch in Hebbronville, about an hour east of Laredo in Jim Hogg County, is now offering its more than 7,000-acre property for $25.1 million, according to the listing from Republic Ranches. The current owners of Randado Ranch, who are choosing to remain anonymous, are stepping aside after 95 years of stewardship at the “true South Texas legacy property.”
“It is among the finest combination cattle, deer, and quail ranches we’ve had the privilege to list for sale,” Republic Ranches writes in the listing.

Complete with its own 4,500-foot private airstrip, Randado Ranch also comes with a 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath main house offering all the modern luxuries a future owner could want. It’ll be the perfect place to recover after days of managing the massive property’s many pastures and native brush.
Randado Ranch has plenty of room for cattle operations, but its history is tied to deer and game management. Deer management is the practice of regulating a deer population’s size to negate any negative impacts on the ecosystem, while also preparing the animals for hunting season. Former ranch manager Al Brothers used Randado Ranch as ground zero to pioneer most of the practices that define modern deer management, according to Republic Ranches.

Today the ranch houses white-tailed deer, quail, and mourning and white-winged doves, making it a hunter’s dream. But Republic Ranches is also looking for a future owner who will carry on the nearly 100-year legacy of this historic property.
“Most of these legacy ranches like these, everybody wants it to go to a family who will appreciate it like they have and continue the traditions that have been in place for so many decades,” Republic Ranches Real Estate Associate Mark Matthews said to MySA.
