Multiple homes are damaged after a tornado touched down near Houston, Texas Monday afternoon, officials said.
Mark Herman, Harris County Constable for Precinct Four, said deputies are responding to the Memorial Northwest neighborhoods of Spring, Texas after a tornado touched down.
“Multiple homes have been struck and sustained significant damage,” Herman said in a post on Facebook, adding, “Calls are actively coming in from residents reporting property damage throughout the area.”
“Please avoid the area, keep roadways clear for first responders, and stay indoors until the severe weather threat has passed,” Herman concluded.
Spring is a suburb about 26 miles north of Houston.
