The third-seeded Longhorns (22-2) with face No. 2 Texas A&M (23-3) at 7:30 p.m. The victor will face either Kentucky or Tennessee in Tuesday’s championship match, which will cap the first SEC Tournament since Florida hoisted the trophy in 2006.
Both Texas and the Aggies had two byes in the tournament and didn’t play until Sunday’s quarterfinals, and both squads wasted little time in rolling to 3-0 wins. The Longhorns dispatched 14-seed Ole Miss while the Aggies beat 15-seed Vanderbilt.
In the lone regular-season meeting between the rivals Oct. 31, Texas A&M handed the Longhorns their first loss of the season in a 25-19, 25-23, 17-25, 19-25, 15-13 thriller in College Station.
