EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso Film and Creative Industries Commission has partnered with Stage 32 Certification — the globally recognized leader in online film industry training — to support El Paso’s growing film community by offering world-class film training, according to Destination El Paso in a news release.

Destination El Paso said that through this partnership, filmmakers, crew, and aspiring media professionals in the Borderland will be able to enroll in Stage 32’s online certification courses, covering essential skills from production accounting and assistant directing to location management and more.

All courses are taught by top industry professionals and are accessible to anyone passionate about building their career in film and television, according to the news release.

“We’re thrilled to bring Stage 32 Certification to El Paso, empowering our local talent and giving them the tools needed to compete for opportunities across Texas and around the world,” Drew Mayer-Oakes, Film and Creative Industries commissioner of El Paso, said. “Our mission is to open doors for El Paso filmmakers, and this partnership will help our creatives level up and be recognized by major productions everywhere.”

Professionals who complete the program will also be included in an international database on Stage 32, making it easier for productions to discover and hire El Paso crew and artists, according to the news release.

In addition, those listed in the El Paso Creative Industry directory will be able to note certifications completed.

“With this launch, the El Paso Film and Creative Industries Commission reaffirms its commitment to supporting the future of film in the Borderland, connecting storytellers, growing careers, and boosting the city’s reputation as a go-to destination for the film industry,” read the news release.
