The search for missing SMU legal professor Charles Hosch is being suspended after two weeks of effort, according to an update posted to his law firm’s website Monday that is providing details about the case.

Hosch, 67, was declared missing on Nov. 11 when he did not return from a hike on the Byron Herbert Reece Trail near Blood Mountain in Georgia.

“We are forever indebted to the search and rescue teams who navigated treacherous terrain in challenging conditions with heroism, skill, and tireless dedication,” the online update on the Hosch & Charles website said. “Our own search efforts will continue. We are planning the next phase and will share details as they develop.”

Hosch was last seen wearing khaki pants, a camel colored sweater and a dark green jacket, according to a previous statement from the Union County Sheriff’s office.
