Plano police are investigating an early morning crash that left a truck driver dead

PLANO, Texas —

Plano police are investigating a deadly crash that happened just before 1 a.m. Monday at East Plano Parkway and K Avenue. 

Investigators say the driver of a commercial truck and trailer was heading west on East Plano Parkway when the truck went over a curb, struck landscaping and hit a sign. 

Plano Fire-Rescue took the male driver, who was later identified as Juan Felix Garcia Gil, 55, of La Porte, to a hospital, where he died. 

According to Plano PD, the cause of death has been determined by the Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office to be medical-related.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.Â
