SAN ANTONIO – It’s shaping up to be a crucial District 12-5A Division II showdown tonight on Little Caesars Thursday Night Lights presented by Gamez Law Firm. The Burbank Bulldogs take on the Sam Houston Hurricanes, two teams with playoff dreams and plenty on the line.

The Hurricanes (3-4 overall, 3-0 in District 12-5A) come in unbeaten in district play, sitting atop the standings after battling through a tough non-district schedule that has clearly toughened them up. Since league play began, Sam Houston has strung together three straight dominant wins, fueled by a resilient core of players who often go both ways on offense and defense.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs (1-4-1, 1-1) are just one game back in the loss column and right in the thick of the playoff chase. With two postseason spots still up for grabs, Burbank can make a major statement — and tighten the district race — by handing Sam Houston its first league loss.

Expect intensity, emotion, and playoff implications tonight under the lights — Burbank vs. Sam Houston.
