AUSTIN (KXAN) — A 39-year-old Houston man is facing “compelling prostitution” charges after he was arrested at a residence in east Round Rock Wednesday, according to the Round Rock Police Department.

That man was identified as Brandon Williams, according to police. Police also found a handgun in his possession at the time of his arrest.

Attorney information was not listed for Williams, as of Wednesday. We will update this if that changes.

This comes after police received “a tip reporting possible human trafficking” at that residence, RRPD said in a news release Wednesday.

“The caller told police that a female relative was being held against her will and forced to engage in sex acts, and that the property may have been operating as a short-term rental,” police said.

When officers arrived at the residence, they found three adults — one was identified as Williams, and the other two were women in their 20s — all from Houston, according to police.

One of the two women told police Williams “had transported them from Houston to Round Rock to engage in prostitution and was preventing them from leaving.”

“Investigators believe the incident was isolated. Both women were provided support and connected with available resources,” police said.

According to police, compelling prostitution happens “when a person knowingly causes another to engage in prostitution through force, threat, coercion, or fraud.”

If Williams is convicted in the case, police said he could face a sentence “ranging from five to 99 years in prison.”
