The Future of North Texas is a community-funded journalism initiative focused on the impact of the region’s expected population surge in the coming years.

Dallas-Fort Worth’s population is predicted to grow from 8 million to 12 million by 2050, and The News is getting ahead of the growth early through this expansion of the newsroom’s community-funded journalism.

The Future of North Texas initiative has added five journalists to cover the impact of the rising population on the region’s workforce, schools, roads, health care, energy, neighborhoods and more.
