Thanksgiving has arrived! As the first major holiday at the end of the year, most stores will be closed and many public services will operate at reduced capacity. Many, but not all, will reopen on Black Friday. Here’s what will close in observance of Thanksgiving.

This year Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, Nov. 27, followed by Black Friday on Friday, Nov. 28.

Yes, Thanksgiving Day is a federal holiday celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November.

Some local grocery stores, like H-E-B and Central Market, will have limited Thanksgiving hours in case you need some last-minute additions to your holiday table. 

Austin’s administration offices and other municipal facilities will be closed Thursday and (Black) Friday for Thanksgiving, with normal business hours resuming on Monday, Dec. 1.
