LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Winds are beginning to turn southward this evening, bringing in slightly warmer air.

Chilly conditions are expected tonight with temperatures running below normal across the region into Thanksgiving morning.
Overnight winds will diminish, allowing for a chilly start to Thanksgiving Day with morning lows near to below freezing across most of the forecast area.

Thanksgiving afternoon should be warmer than Wednesday, with highs about 5 degrees higher on average; however, easterly surface winds will help limit the temperature increase.

Looking ahead, a cold front arriving Saturday will bring much cooler air Sunday and Monday. Low chances of precipitation are possible Sunday into early next week.
