Moss, the Texas A&M football star running back was among four player listed as out for Friday’s game against Texas. The SEC availability report posted Thursday evening said Moss as well as fellow Week 1 starters Scooby Williams, a linebacker, and Bryce Anderson, a safety, will miss the season finale. Rashad Johnson Jr. a safety, is also listed as out.
After maintaining for weeks that Moss, injured last month, would return before the end of regular season, head coach Mike Elko had to walk back those claims.
“We’ll see. Probably not, but we’ll see,” Elko said Monday.
Moss went from doubtful to out over the course of three daily reports.
The preseason All-SEC selection suffered a leg injury Oct. 11 during the Aggies’ victory over Florida and has missed the last five games since then. Up to that point, the senior had accumulated 389 rushing yards on 70 carries and scored six touchdowns in six games.
Texas A&M is looking for its first win against Texas since a 2010 victory in Austin. If the Aggies win, attention will then turn to Moss’ availability for the SEC title game Dec. 6.
