Baylor football has a key injury to monitor as it looks to secure bowl eligibility on Saturday.

Running back Bryson Washington went down with what appeared to be a right leg injury early in Baylor’s matchup with Houston at McLane Stadium in Waco. Washington, Baylor’s leading rusher, played just two snaps before he sustained the injury.

After he was briefly evaluated on the field, Washington was helped to the sideline by trainers. He was later carted to the locker room.

Washington has been a key player for Baylor over the last two seasons. He entered Saturday’s game with 772 rushing yards and six scores on the ground. Baylor was 5-6 going into the meeting with Houston and was already playing with Michael Turner in the backfield.
