Texas football has landed a commitment from Class of 2026 defensive lineman Jamarion Carlton.
Carlton, who had been committed to Baylor since July, announced his intent to play for the Longhorns instead on social media on Saturday afternoon.
Carlton is rated by the 247Sports Composite as a four-star prospect. He’s the No. 89 overall player in the 2026 recruiting cycle and the No. 10 defensive lineman. The Temple High School star is also the No. 12 player in the state of Texas.
Listed at 6-foot-4.5, 260 pounds, Carlton also reported offers from LSU, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and USC, among many others.
He becomes the third defensive lineman in the 2026 Longhorns recruiting class, alongside Corey Wells and Vodney Cleveland. All three are four-star prospects.
Texas’ 2026 recruiting class ranks eighth in the nation, with national signing day set for December 3.
