SAN ANTONIO – Two people have been arrested, and over half a million dollars of meth cut with Fentanyl has been seized by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

On Wednesday, authorities received a tip that a potential narcotics operation was happening at a downtown hotel, the Tru by Hilton. Authorities staked out the hotel and witnessed activity consistent with drug trafficking.

A warrant was issued, and two hotel rooms were located in connection with the trafficking. In one room, deputies found 10 kilos of meth cut with Fentanyl.

“Fentanyl is 50 times more addictive than crack cocaine,” said Salazar during the press conference.

Yolanda Ponce, 38, and Tomas Hernandez Jr, 22, were arrested. The drugs have a street value of between $500,000 and $80,0000.
