With rivalry week in the books, teams are starting to shift focus toward their conference championship matchups.
Before it plays for the Big 12 title, Texas Tech received a boost in the latest AP Top 25 rankings. The Red Raiders jumped from No. 7 to No. 5 in this week’s poll after a 49-0 blowout of West Virginia.
Tech was one of the teams to benefit from Texas’ upset of Texas A&M. The Aggies notably dropped from No. 3 to No. 7 after their 27-17 loss to the Longhorns. Meanwhile, Oklahoma remained in eighth.
Texas closed out the regular season on a high note, moving up to 14th in this week’s rankings.
