During their meeting on September 9, 2025, the Plano ISD Board of Trustees welcomed Joni Harris as the district’s Director of Learning Media Services.
Mrs. Harris is a library leader with more than 25 years in public education, including 11 years as a librarian. She most recently served as a Learning Media Services Specialist in Plano ISD. She also serves as Chair-Elect of the Texas Association of School Librarians, supporting statewide advocacy and professional development. Mrs. Harris also spent time in Garland ISD as a Librarian and a Teacher.
“Joni brings a strategic vision for future-ready learning environments and technology integration that empowers students and educators,” said Plano ISD Executive Director of Learning Media Services & Secondary Academics Dr. Kristin Hebert. “She is known for building strong, collaborative relationships and leading with clarity.”
