EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD), in partnership with the Mid-America Arts Alliance will host free workshops for local creative professionals.
The Artist INC Express workshop will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, and Sunday, Feb. 22, at the El Paso Mexican American Cultural Center.
Artist INC Express workshop is divided into two 5-hour sessions that will cover topics for “arts professionals, including setting goals, securing funding, marketing and branding, and building a formal toolkit. Workshops are peer-facilitated, led by a team of experienced, working artists,” according to the news release by the City of El Paso.
Additionally, the sessions include group discussions, hands-on experience and small group work.
MCAD is inviting artists from all disciplines within a 75-minute radius of El Paso to join the workshops. Artists must be 18 years and older to participate.
The workshops are free, but participants must register in advance. Participants must also commit to the full 10 hours of the program. For more information on registration and event details, you can visit the website here.
“MCAD staff are often asked how artists and other creative professionals can grow their practice and advance professionally,” City of El Paso Quality of Life Managing Director Ben Fyffe said. “Creating more opportunities for artists to receive practical, hands-on professional training is central to our mission of developing a thriving arts community in our region.”
Artist INC is supported in part by grants from the Windgate Foundation, the Hallmark Corporate Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts, according to the City of El Paso. This is Artist INC’s 15th year and has been completed by 2,000 artists.
