LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Texas Tech’s Chief of Police Kyle Bonath will step down next month. Chief Bonath served with the university for about 10 years.
Texas Tech President Lawrence Schovanec announced the chief’s retirement in a memo to university staff.
President Schovanec says he’s grateful for Chief Bonath’s service and his focus on student and campus safety.
Assistant Chief Amy Ivey will now serve as interim chief while the university searches for a full-time candidate.
Chief Bonath’s retirement starts January 31.
