Peter Mainguy

Peter Mainguy joined Partners Real Estate as executive managing director of services for the Texas region, the Houston-based brokerage firm announced Monday.

Mainguy had served as CBRE’s Houston market leader from 2020 until last week, when CBRE announced that it appointed Russell Hodges to replace Mainguy after he stepped down.

At Partners, Mainguy will oversee the growth and management of the firm’s brokerage, property management, valuation and advisory, and project management services throughout Texas. He will also be an equity partner.

“Peter’s appointment is a transformative moment for Partners as we continue to expand our footprint across Texas and further build our brand out at the national level,” Partners CEO Jon Silberman said in a statement.

Mainguy will work with John O’Neill, who left his role as Cushman & Wakefield’s U.S. multifamily capital markets president in December 2023 to lead Partners’ Southeast region. O’Neill helped launch the brokerage’s Atlanta office in March 2024 and was tasked with expanding Partners into the Carolinas, Nashville and Florida.

Partners leased a bigger office space for its Houston headquarters last year, saying at the time that the firm’s headcount had doubled over the previous half-decade.

The brokerage called Mainguy’s hiring “another significant win” following its poaching of the agency office leasing team of Chip Colvill, Michael Anderson, Win Haggard, Damon Thames, Brad Beasley, Diana Bridger and Connor Saxe away from Cushman & Wakefield in March.
