Remember a few weeks ago when people around town were talking about how it’s too warm outside and fall will never arrive on the South Plains? Well, a taste of winter has now arrived as we’ve already seen cold temperatures and even colder wind chills. And now there is a chance of snow in our forecast.

Is It Going To Snow in Lubbock This Week?

Temperatures are set to drop once again Wednesday into Thursday with Thursday’s high being around the upper 30’s to low 40’s. But late Wednesday into Thursday is when cold air will be pushing into our area along with the possibility of moisture.

According to the National Weather Service as of Tuesday, Lubbock could see a chance of snow, or rain late Wednesday night or Thursday morning. Though depending on the timing, it could be a wintery mix or just rain. As you can see from the map below, parts o the panhandle have a better chance of moisture, including snow.

Warming Up After

After the cold front Wednesday, temperatures will rise back into the 50’s and 60’s with a beautiful weekend ahead for the South Plains and Lubbock.
