FORT WORTH, Texas (KLTV) – The Texas Cowboy Hall of fame has announced country music icon and Jacksonville native Neal McCoy as the recipient of the 2026 “Spirit of Texas Award.”
On their website, the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame describes McCoy as a “Texas-born country music legend whose energy, charisma, and patriotism have made him one of the most beloved entertainers in America.”
McCoy, who was born in Jacksonville and now lives in Longview, has won numerous awards in country music, including his induction into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame.
The induction ceremony is set to take place March 26 at Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth.
The TCHOF is home to more than 140 inductees who represent the best of the best in ranching, business, entertainment, rodeo and agriculture.
According to the TCHOF, The “Spirit of Texas Award” was established to celebrate the uniqueness of Texas and Texans. It recognizes individuality, achievement, style, independent, innovative and forward thinking.
