SAN ANTONIO – A woman is dead after being hit and dragged by a truck Tuesday on the Far South Side.
The deadly accident happened just after 8 a.m. off Roosevelt Avenue near Loop 410.
Authorities say the driver hit the woman and dragged her for roughly a block to the intersection of San Rafael and Roosevelt, where she became trapped underneath the vehicle.
Emergency responders performed lifesaving efforts at the scene, but the victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
Police say the driver remained at the scene and told officers he did not see the victim. At this time, no charges have been filed.
