SAN ANTONIO – Multiple people were arrested after a disturbance broke out in a Bexar County courtroom.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, three people and multiple witnesses were waiting for an inmate to appear for a scheduled hearing. But the court coordinator announced the case had been reset, and the inmate would not be brought to court.

As the group exited, one of the individuals began yelling, disrupting nearby proceedings. A deputy moved in to arrest her on a charge of hindering court proceedings by disorderly conduct, but she resisted. A second person then punched a deputy, and a third person allegedly struck another woman in the courtroom.

One person was taken to a hospital for treatment.

All three people arrested were charged with hindering a court proceeding by disorderly conduct. One also faces a charge of assault on a peace officer, and another is charged with assault on a public servant.
