Collin College will celebrate summer and fall graduates with a December commencement. The ceremony begins at 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12. The location is the Credit Union of Texas Event Center at 200 E. Stacy Road in Allen. Doors will open 90 minutes prior to the ceremony.

Ken Hutchenrider will deliver the commencement address. He serves as president of Methodist Richardson Medical Center. Hutchenrider helped guide the hospital into the Methodist Health System.

He also oversaw the development of the current hospital at President George Bush Turnpike and Renner Road.

His accomplishments include a new wound care center and a Level III Nursery. He helped create the Da Vinci Surgical Program and a Level III Trauma Program. He also developed a Comprehensive Stroke Program.

Hutchenrider helped recruit new medical staff members. The hospital earned Magnet designation for nursing excellence. He was elected to the Richardson City Council in 2018. He serves in Place 5 and is the Mayor Pro Tem.

He served as chairman of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce. He also served as president of the Plano Independent School District Foundation. He supports the Plano ISD Health Sciences Academy and the Richardson ISD Healthcare Careers Academy.
