The group includes two Houston products in Avery Jones and Jocelyn Orosco, Yari Santiago from the Metroplex, and Ava Davis, the first signee in the Hall tenure to cross over the state line from Louisiana. All four will join the Huskies as freshman in the fall of 2026.
Â
AVERY JONES comes to the Huskies from Foster High School in Richmond, Texas, where she played for former HCU pitcher Keely (Shuler) McGuire. Jones returns to action this Spring after sitting out her junior season. She was an All-District performer for the Falcons as a sophomore, batting .377 with five homers and 20 RBI along with eight stolen bases. She plays club softball with Texas Blaze United 18u.
Â
Hailing from Cy Creek High School in Houston is JOCELYN OROSCO. As both a pitcher and first baseman, Orosco is a three-time All-District performer for the Cougars. She batted .532 as a sophomore with eight homers and 43 RBI, and for her high school career has 10 homers and 79 RBI. She has gone a combined 21-12 over three seasons with 296 strikeouts in 161.1 innings pitched.

YARI SANTIAGOÂ is an outfielder from Fossil Ridge High School in Keller, Texas. Louisiana native AVA DAVIS rounds out the quartet. An outfielder from Anacoco High School, Davis has earned All-District and All-State honors the past three years for the Indians. Last year as a junior she was named District MVP after batting .495 with six homers, 41 RBI and eight stolen bases. Davis plays select with United Fastpitch-Albert.
HALL ON THE EARLY SIGNEES:
Â
“This is a terrific group of early signees for us, meeting several needs for us moving forward. We felt like we added a good mix of hitting, pitching and defense with these ladies, and we are really looking forward to getting them here next Fall.”
Â
Mary-Ellen Hall is entering her 35th season at the helm of her alma mater. HCU went 17-33 in 2025 and advanced to its fifth consecutive Southland Conference Tournament despite having five players felled by season-ending injuries. The Huskies lost three seniors from last year’s club including Haylie Savage, the first four-time All-Southland Conference honoree in program history.
