Texas Tech women’s soccer will travel to Arizona for two games this week to face Arizona State University Thursday in Tempe and the University of Arizona Sunday in Tucson.

“Even though it’s a four-and-a-half day journey, trip, the two cities are close,” Stone said. “So, it’s not a massive change in between.”

Tech will be allowed to train at both Arizona State and Arizona’s facilities between the two matchups.

“We will go out to Arizona State, do recovery practice on Friday,” Stone said. “Then on Saturday, we’ll train at Arizona”

Stone said Tech will bring a lot of equipment to ensure the team is comfortable throughout its time on the road.

Tech soccer is 10-3-2 on the road in the last two seasons, but 19-8-11 on the road when including the last five seasons, according to Tech Athletics.

Stone said if the training schedule allows, the team would be in attendance for the Tech versus Arizona State football game on Saturday.

“Yeah, we’ll get down there, hopefully,” Stone said. “It’s all around, obviously, the soccer teams training schedule.”

Stone added the team’s schedule is dependent on when it is allowed to use the opposing teams’ training facilities.

Tech has played the two teams consecutively on the road six times since Stone joined Tech in 2007. Tech’s record when playing the two teams consecutively on the road throughout Stone’s tenure is 7-3-2, according to Tech Athletics.

Tech has only won both games consecutively once during Stone’s tenure. The single occurrence comes from the 2013 matchup when Tech beat Arizona State 1-0 and Arizona 2-0, according to Tech Athletics.
