The holidays are truly a magical time. Enchanting light displays, winter wonderlands, giant gingerbread villages, all come alive come December. Here to add to the magic of the season is Popfancy Dessert Bar. Houston’s resident pop-up palace is poised to debut its latest pop-up: Emerald City: A Yuletide Cafe For Magical Students.
Popfancy Dessert Bar is an award-winning cafe in the Bellaire area of Houston. Most famously, the cafe is known for its rotating pop-ups throughout the year, often inspired by popular anime or other pop-culture movies and series. Past pop-ups have included a Demon Seoul Cafe, Lucky Box Cafe, and Ninetail Hidden Ninja Hideout.
On December 12, the venue will debut its latest pop-up: Emerald City Yule Bar. Per the description, the pop-up reads as a crossover between Wicked and the Harry Potter series. The venue announced the theme earlier this week on social media:

“This winter, you are cordially invited to a magical gathering of witches, wizards, and muggles in the Emerald City! Join us for a limited time pop-up cafe featuring a magic school themed menu, immersive atmosphere, cosplayers, magician nights, karaoke contests, trivia nights, and more”.
For its pop-ups, Popfancy regularly features a themed menu of eats and drinks. While the venue has yet to announce its menu for the event, we expect them to do so in the run-up to its debut.
All pop-up experiences, including the Emerald City Yule Ball: A Yuletide Cafe for Magical Students, are completely free to visitors of all-ages. The cafe does accept walk-ups but does encourage making reservations ahead of time to shorten the wait.
Popfancy Dessert Bar is located at 9393 Bellaire Blvd (ste 6). Once running, the Emerald City pop-up will be open from 1 pm – 10 pm daily. See its socials to keep up to date.
