But Saturday brings an even stronger warm-up. With steady westerly flow, temperatures surge into the 60s and may brush up near 70 degrees across the southern and eastern counties.
A weak cold front slips through Saturday night into Sunday, knocking highs down about 10 to 15 degrees. Sunday settles into the 50s and low 60s.
Next week quickly warms again.
Dry air and sunshine will push highs back into the 70s by midweek, setting up a stretch of quiet, above-average December afternoons.
