It’s not officially the holiday season until the H-E-B Christmas tree is brought to life along the Corpus Christi Bayfront. Standing over 60 feet tall and adorned with 2,000 ornaments and more than 7,000 lights, the tree dazzled families and visitors during Saturday’s lighting event.

Hundreds of families attended the event, enjoying music, festive performances, and the magic of the season. Among those flipping the switch to light the tree was Mayor Paulette Guajardo, who emphasized the importance of community traditions.

“A lot of families they look for things happening within the community and sponsored by the city and our partners and so this park that belongs to them is the perfect example of how we utilize these resources to invite everyone to come together and make memories for their families and children, and that’s what warms my heart the most,” said Guajardo.

The mayor noted that she has seen the event grow every year, making the 8th annual H-E-B Christmas Tree Lighting a milestone for the city.

Attendees shared in the festive spirit, capturing photos, singing along to holiday favorites, and celebrating the start of the season together.

There was even a lighted boat parade!
