The table is set. Now we wait for the College Football Playoff committee to make the meal.
Now that all of college football’s conference championship games are in the books — with Texas Tech, Indiana and Duke taking their respective titles on Saturday — the committee will spend Selection Sunday locking in the 12-team field to play for the National Championship.
There are some locks, and there are some questions, chief among them: Where do the Red Raiders, Aggies and Sooners land (apologies to the three-loss Longhorns) and which two out of Alabama, Notre Dame and Miami sneak into the bottom of the field to extend their season?
Our writers and columnists from The Dallas Morning News have made their picks for the top 12 of the College Football Playoff rankings. See their predictions below.

Townsend: No, the 12 best college teams as of this moment aren’t getting in. Texas, for one, should be in. But this is the right field under the current system.
