The uniforms are meant to pay homage to the program’s 1975 team that went undefeated. The 1975 team donned similar uniforms with gold inside of the decal of the helmets instead of maroon.
ASU previously paid homage to the 1975 team in 2020, when the team wore maroon-and-gold uniforms against UCLA.
Texas Tech will be donning all-red for its uniforms with white-colored numbers and names on Saturday. The Red Raiders will be donning a black helmet with a white and red stripe across it with a Texas Tech logo on the side.
