EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A roadway project along U.S. 70 in Doña Ana County is scheduled to start Monday, Dec. 8 and will impact traffic, the New Mexico Department of Transportation said.
This $2.3 million project is expected to take 12 working days and be completed by Dec. 23, weather pending.
Drivers can expect lane closures on both eastbound and westbound lanes of U.S. 70 from mile marker 170, about 8 miles east of Organ, to mile marker 161, about 1 mile west of Organ.
The contractor will begin at the White Sands Missile Range entrance, milling and paving ramps before moving to US 70.
Work hours will be 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the possibility of weekend work.
Drivers are urged to reduce speed and obey all traffic control devices. Speed limits will be reduced.
