Those seeking office in the Democratic Party ticket can file to run at the Democratic Party headquarters at 1401 Montana Ave., suite E. The Democrats will be taking applications until 6 tonight. Check the El Paso Democratic Party website for the latest updates or call them at (915) 600-5040.
Those seeking to run in the Republican primary can file at the Republican Party headquarters located at 7717 Lockheed, suite D. The Republicans will be taking applications until 6 tonight. Important Dates For 2026 Primary Elections
January 1, 2026: First day to apply for a Ballot by Mail.
February 2, 2026: Last day to register to vote.
February 17, 2026: First day of Early Voting.
February 27, 2026: Last day to apply for a Ballot by Mail.
February 17, 2026: Last day of Early Voting
March 3, 2026: Primary Election Day.

The political office several political observers are monitoring is whether Ricardo Saminego will draw a Democratic Party challenger for the primary. No word yet on Brian Kennedy’s plans for office in 2026. Kennedy filed a treasurer’s report earlier this year.
