If you’ve ever thought, “Man, I could really go for a snack that’s both delicious AND slightly unhinged,” congratulations–Lubbock has delivered. Joyful Poppin’, located at 11804 Indiana Ave., Suite 300, is the kind of place where your inner child, your actual children, and your dentist all scream at the same time.

This place isn’t just a popcorn shop. No, no. It’s a full-blown snack kingdom with over 50 gourmet popcorn flavors, unique candies, bottled sodas, toys that contain candy (every parent’s nightmare), edible glitter bombs, AND now cotton candy. If Willy Wonka retired to West Texas, this would be his ranch.

And let’s talk flavors. Right now, they’re featuring the Grinch Mix–green apple, cherry, and red hot cinnamon–which sounds exactly like something the Grinch would eat right before stealing a Christmas tree from your living room at 2am.
Meet the Sweetest Power Couple in Lubbock
General Manager Eva Underwood and her husband, Rudy, who is both chef and consultant, run this sugar-powered empire. They are, without exaggeration, some of the kindest humans on Earth.
They offer samples, which should be illegal because once you taste one flavor, your wallet doesn’t stand a chance. Rudy also makes the cotton candy himself, and it’s so good it should count as a controlled substance.
Oh, and did I mention the buffet-style candy? You literally walk around and scoop whatever you want into a bag. It’s like Halloween, but you skip the walking and strangers’ porches.

Joyful Poppin’ also offers online fundraisers where groups earn 50% profit without touching a single box of popcorn. The orders ship directly to the customer, which means no sorting, no delivering, and no storing 243 popcorn bags in someone’s garage next to the exercise bike from 1998.

Joyful Poppin’ is open Monday–Saturday, 11am–7pm and was founded in 2023 as Something’s Poppin’ before rebranding in 2024.
