AUSTIN, Texas — Formula 1 is coming to Austin this weekend, and Visit Austin says it will be the biggest weekend in the city when it comes to tourism. Visit Austin says the average hotel price for Saturday is around $565 around the city. For hotels in Downtown Austin, the average is $857.
The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport says it also expects the airport to be busier than usual this weekend. The high travel days are expected from today through Monday. The airport said the Monday after Formula One is expected to be the airport’s busiest day in 2025. The airport’s all-time record was set during Formula 1 last year with over 44,000 departing passengers. Airport officials say it remains unclear whether Monday will break that record. Airport officials are urging travelers to arrive at least 2.5 hours early for domestic flights and 3 hours early for international.
