LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Sunny and quiet conditions have continued through Monday, with southwesterly surface winds and mostly sunny skies will warm highs into the upper 60s on Monday.

Winds are expected to weaken after sunset and become light overnight. Below-freezing lows are forecast for Tuesday morning for much of the region, although some areas off the Caprock will see lows in the mid to upper 30s.

Tuesday will be much warmer and breezy. Winds will increase with sustained west to southwesterly winds up to 20 mph and gusts as high as 30 mph.

Mostly sunny skies and west-southwesterly flow should push daytime highs into the upper 60s to lower 70s across much of the area. Conditions are expected to remain dry ahead of the early Wednesday front.
A secondary cold front on Friday will bring cooler temperatures through the weekend.
