Let’s be honest, when it comes to flying out of Lubbock, it’s not always the easiest thing to do. First, it can be expensive. It can also be a pain having to plan out all the connecting flights just to make sure you arrive on time to your destination and event. But for those Red Raiders leaving out of Lubbock for the Orange Bowl, things are going to be a bit easier.

Southwest Airlines Adds Routes to Florida

According to a social media post by the airport, Southwest Airlines will be adding two different flights for Red Raider fans who are traveling to see the Texas Tech Football team in the College Football Playoff. Even better? They are non-stop flights from Lubbock. Here’s what was added:

• Wed, Dec 31 from LBB to FLL and MIA

• Fri, Jan 2 from FLL and MIA back to LBB

Of course, these routes won’t last forever. They are basically in place for the football game and for the trip home. Depending on how Texas Tech does and if they move on, it’s always possible we will see future temporary flights added in the future.

Texas Tech is the #4 team in the nation and play in the Orange Bowl on New Year’s Day. Their opponent will be the winner of James Madison and Oregon.
