El Paso is loaded with cool things to see, try, do and experience … some of them though, are pretty polarizing. No maybe’s here, it’s either “all in” or “hell to the no”.
For example, El Paso is the Mexican food capital of the world but not everyone agrees on what the best dish is. Tacos, enchiladas, menudo? You’ll find opinions all over the spectrum but almost everybody finds something they like.
That’s what makes the food, among many other things about El Paso, so cool … the wide, wide range of “middle ground”.
There are some things though that are very polarizing in El Paso, things that peeps draw a firm line through where it’s either “hell yeah” or “F no”. Here are, I think, the top 3:

This one is sad really, because it’s not a matter of purely loving or hating the idea. It’s the circumstances around it – Visiting Juarez. Juarez is wonderful but thanks to its recent, turbulent history; tourism is down.

Cartel violence, missing girls, restrictions and long lines brought on by border issues – just a few things that have caused many to stay home. Again, not a love/hate view of Juarez, just harsh realities that some don’t want to deal with even though there is so much to experience there.
Next up is probably the biggest of the 3 – Chicos Tacos. Seriously, I don’t think anything, anywhere has this level of pure hate or total love. The tacos have a rep way beyond El Paso and some fans will travel great distances to get some.
Then, there are those who cringe at the very utterance of the name, repulsed by the idea alone. These days, it seems like their numbers are growing.
New Mexico Drivers. They’re either seen as no different than those from any other state or as reckless, untrained, menaces to the highway who spread accidents and mayhem everywhere they go.
