(Collin College) The Collin College Frisco Campus commemorated a construction milestone as the final beam was lifted and placed on top of the Health Sciences Center during the Topping Out Ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 3.

The Health Sciences Center, which is scheduled to open in January 2027, will be the newest addition to the Frisco Campus.

The three-story, 120,000-square-foot building, located at 9700 Wade Blvd. in Frisco, will offer hands-on simulation technology and house labs and several imaging and allied health programs.

“Great progress has been made toward creating this innovative learning environment,” said Dr. Neil Matkin, Collin College district president. “We can all be proud of contributing to a Health Sciences Center that will offer high-demand programs that align with local workforce needs. It’s a win for our students, for our healthcare partners, and for the community who will benefit from receiving care from well-trained, highly qualified healthcare professionals.”

The Health Sciences Center was designed by PBK Architects and built by McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. with AECOM serving as the Owner’s Representative.

“The partnership between McCarthy and Collin College has been a phenomenal one,” said Matthew Schrodel, senior vice president and Dallas business unit leader at McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.

“At McCarthy, we take pride in building projects that help our communities thrive, and this project is a testament to Collin College and their commitment to delivering education that aligns with what the community and local workforce needs. Personally, this project is also a full circle moment for me, I actually attended Collin College during my educational journey, so it means a lot for me to be able to give back to the place that also helped me.”
