City Bank announces Community Rewards Names Winners

LUBBOCK, Texas (CITY BANK NEWS RELEASE) – Today, City Bank announced the 30 recipients of this year’s $60,000 Community Rewards program.

Rewards were given to the top five recipients in six categories. International Order of the Rainbow for Girls received an additional $3,000 as the top vote-getter during the month-long voting period. More than 342,000 online votes were cast for the 106 nonprofit agencies.

The top five finishers from each of the six categories and their prize amounts are:

Animal Welfare and Environment

$4,000: Rescued Animals Second Chance

$2,000: Haven Animal Care Shelter

$1,500: South Plains SPCA

$1,000: Paw Pet Adoption

$500: Levelland Animal Friends

Basic Human Needs

$4,000: Catholic Charities of Lubbock

$2,000: College Heights Food Pantry

$1,500: New Legacy Home for Women

$1,000: Lubbock Meals on Wheels

$500: Lubbock Impact

Community Contribution and Leadership

$4,000: Lubbock Master Gardener Association

$2,000: South Plains SKYWARN

$1,500: Friends of the Lubbock Library

$1,000: Lubbock Bourbon Society

$500: Texas South Plains Honor Flight

Education and Youth Services

$4,000: International Order of the Rainbow for Girls

$2,000: Southcrest Christian Schools

$1,500: Christ in the Arts of West Texas, Inc.

$1,000: Plainview Education Foundation

$500: YWCA of Lubbock

Health and Wellness

$4,000: American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

$2,000: TTUHSC Larry Combest Community Health & Wellness Center

$1,500: South Plains Kidney Foundation

$1,000: Southwest Parkinson Society

$500: Children’s Advocacy Center of the South Plains

Youth Development and Advocacy

$4,000: Camp Rio Blanco Circle of Friends

$2,000: Children’s Home of Lubbock

$1,500: Scouting America, South Plains Council

$1,000: Texas Girls and Boys Ranch

$500: CASA of the South Plains

Six $500 “Early Rewards” were announced on November 5. Awards were given to Texas South Plains Honor Flight, Youth Artist Guild Lubbock, Lubbock 4-H Rabbit Club, Paw Pet Adoption, Flatland Youth Fund, and Brittany and Devin’s Angels.

This year marks the 18th consecutive year of City Bank’s Community Rewards program. Since its inception, City Bank has contributed $1,020,000 to more than 170 nonprofit organizations in Lubbock and the South Plains.
